On December 6, 2013, the 22nd meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of GUAM took place in Kyiv within the framework of the 20th Ministerial meeting of the OSCE.

This event involved the following officials: Mr. E.Mamedyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Mrs. M.Pandzhikidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia who chaired the meeting; Mrs. N.Gherman, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova; Mr. L.Kozhara, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Mr. V. Chechelashvili, the Secretary General of GUAM.

The CMFA considered issues related to political interaction, cooperation in GUAM+ format, in particular, continued to exchange views on 34th Agenda item of 67th GA UN Session «Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development».

The CMFA welcomed the results of 6th Plenary Session of GUAM PA, which was held in Tbilisi on December 2-3, 2013.

CMFA stressed the importance of Communiqué adopted on November 29, 2013 on joint meeting of GUAM Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. The CMFA outlined the necessity of close cooperation between GUAM and EU in post-Vilnius period and agreed to actively interact in this respect.

The CMFA discussed complex of issues related to GUAM sectoral cooperation, particularly with respect to economy and trade, energy, and also considered issues of GUAM’s cooperation with other countries and international organizations.

The CMFA approved decision on the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova in the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM for 2014.

The venue and date of the next CMFA meeting will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
