On April 7, 2014, the Fourth Meeting of the Working Group on Information Technologies took place in Tbilisi, Georgia under Georgia’s chairmanship, involving delegations from GUAM member states, as well as representatives of the GUAM Secretariat.

Participants in the meeting discussed issues regarding the systematic exchange of information towards improving legislation, statistics data, macro-indicators, and the projects being implemented in this sphere. Participants also discussed issues related to cooperation between GUAM member states in implementing the GUAM Strategy for developing sectoral cooperation and potential new projects in the field of information technologies.

Meeting participants decided to hold a joint meeting between the Working Group on Science and Education and the Working Group on Information Technologies on developing distance education opportunities, and also to continue coordinated efforts to harmonise the positions between GUAM member states during participation in international sectoral events.

The place and date of next meeting will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
