On June 26-28, 2013, the Secretary General of GUAM participated in the International Conference of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and the Baltic Assembly “GUAM and Baltic Countries – Partners for Safe and Prosperous Regions”. The conference involved representatives of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, the Baltic Assembly, the Parliament of the Republic of Poland, and the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TURKPA).
The Secretary General addressed conference participants with a welcome speech and also gave a speech during the closing session, dedicated to the prospects of cooperation between the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and the Baltic Assembly. He also co-chaired the third and fourth sessions of the conference.
Mr. Oleg Klynchenko, Programme Coordinator for Political and Legal Issues at the GUAM Secretariat, gave the speech during the first Session, which was devoted to fighting organised crime.
The outcomes of the International Conference were reflected in the Final Statement.
