May 17, 2016, a meeting of experts from the GUAM member states on the discussion of GUAM-Japan cooperation in the field of waste management and ecology took place in the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv. Representatives of the GUAM member states, the Embassy of Japan to Ukraine and the GUAM Secretariat participated in it.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the results of the GUAM-Japan Workshop «Environment – Waste Management» (February 21-29, 2016) and expressed their gratitude to the Japanese side for the excellent organization of this event.
The participants discussed and agreed on proposals in the field of waste management and the environment which in the future can form the basis of general GUAM-Japan projects in this area, and also provided additional proposals for investment projects in waste management.
The participants agreed to ask the Secretariat to forward the materials agreed upon at the meeting to the Japanese side.
