On October 10, 2012, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv hosted a Special Meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, devoted to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM. The event involved the following persons: the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. E. Mammediarov (who chaired the Meeting); the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Mr. D. Jalagania; the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Y. Leanca; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr. K. Gryshshenko; and the Secretary General of GUAM, Mr. V. Chechelashvili.

The CMFA considered issues related to the organisation’s further development. The CMFA emphasised the important role being played by GUAM in the context of developing regional cooperation and expressed hope for the future effective cooperation within the framework of GUAM.

The meeting also involved ambassadors from those countries that are traditional partners of GUAM – the USA and Japan – and also the Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine.

The CMFA adopted a Communiqué of the GUAM CMFA Special Meeting, devoted to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM.

Also on October 10, 2012, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv hosted a Music Performance featuring the GUAM countries, devoted to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM. The chamber group of the “Kyiv-Classic” symphonic orchestra, under the direction of Maestro G. G. Makarenko, the orchestra’s conductor and Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine, Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor, and Ambassador of Ukrainian culture, performed the works of well-known national and authors from the GUAM member states. Among others, compositions of Azerbaijani, Georgian, Moldovan and Ukrainian melodies, and also compositions of GUAM member states’ musical culture classics were performed during the event.
The representatives of diplomatic community, representatives of MFA, other ministries and institutions of Ukraine were invited to participate the event.
