On July 1, 2011, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, Ukraine hosted the first meeting of the Working Sub-Group on Law Statistics (WGS-STAT), which was held under Georgiaт chairmanship.
Participating delegations discussed the priority tasks and practical issues of the Working Sub-Group’s activities, including the preparation of information on the situation regarding crime in the GUAM member states, the procedure for its further generalisation and analysis, and the presentation of other informational and statistical materials.
The Sides exchanged views on currently existing approaches to gathering and providing statistic data in GUAM member countries, and the possibilities of its further optimization, particularly regarding the best international practice.
The outcomes of the meeting were reflected in the resultant Protocol. The next meeting of the WGS-STAT is scheduled to take place in October 2011.
