On December 16-17, 2015, the 23rd Meeting of the GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation Project Steering Committee took place in Telavi, Georgia.

The Parties discussed information on work done regarding the implementation of the Trade and Transport Facilitation Project, heard reports by the Heads of the TTF Committee on simplifying procedures while transporting goods and vehicles through border checkpoints, and noted the importance of further simplifying procedures while transporting goods and vehicles through border checkpoints of GUAM member states. The Parties also expressed their readiness to extend mutual consultative help, upon request, with respect to upgrading customs procedures within the Organization.

During the TTF Steering Committee Meeting, participants examined the draft Protocol between the customs authorities of GUAM Member States regarding the mutual recognition of individual results regarding customs control of trade and transport facilitation between customs authorities of GUAM Member States and agreed to this in general. The Parties agreed to prepare and approve specifications in aims of beginning to exchange preliminary information between GUAM Member States with a view to implementing the Protocol between the customs authorities of the relevant GUAM Member States on organizing the exchange of preliminary information to facilitate the trade and transport of goods and vehicles across the borders of GUAM Member States, signed on July 8, 2015.

The next regular meeting of the TTF Steering Committee will take place in first half of 2016 in the Republic of Moldova.
