On November 21-22, 2013, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv hosted the 29th Meeting of the GUAM Council of National Coordinators (CNC). This event involved the following officials: Mr. E. Agayev, Director of the External Planning and Strategic Research Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Mr. D. Djalagania, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and GUAM National Coordinator from Georgia, who chaired the meeting; Mr. V. Chiveri, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and GUAM National Coordinator from the Republic of Moldova; Mr. V. Mayko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and GUAM National Coordinator from Ukraine; and Mr. V. Chechelashvili, Secretary General of GUAM.

The CNC considered issues of political cooperation, interaction within the GUAM+ format, and agreed upon a draft Communiqué of the meeting of GUAM Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Vilnius (November 29, 2013), as well as the documents from the GUAM CMFA, which will be held within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial meeting (December 5-6, 2013 in Kyiv).

The CNC considered various issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, and complex of issues related to GUAM sectoral cooperation, particularly with respect to fighting international crime, as well as to economy and trade, energy, and transport. The CNC also discussed issues pertaining to GUAM’s cooperation with other countries and international organisations.

The place and venue of the next CNC meeting will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
