26 December 2016, the 5th Meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR) of the GUAM Member States was held at the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv.

This meeting was the final in this year and was dedicated to summing up the results of the Organization’s activities in 2016, as well as plans for the next year.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine M. Ukleba, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova R. Bolbochan, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine A. Kononenko, the Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine E. Bagirov, the Secretary General of GUAM A. Efendiev, the Secretariat Program Coordinators S. Tamirov and T. Kiladze.

Within the meeting, A. Efendiev informed the CPR members about the outcome of recent events of the current year, the activities of GUAM in 2016 during the Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the achieved goals, initiatives and decisions, as well as plans for 2017 under the Chairmanship of Georgia.

Noting that 2017 will be interesting, eventful and fruitful, the Secretary General assured that the Secretariat will make every effort to successfully implement the Georgian Chairmanship Program.

The Secretary General expressed gratitude to the CPR members for their support and close interaction.
