On 29 March 2016, the meeting was held between Mr. V. Verba, Project Coordinator of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ukraine, and Mr. A. Efendiev, Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the situation in the GUAM countries and in the region as a whole in the light of the processes around it, noted challenges and opportunities, stressed the importance of developing and strengthening regional cooperation.
The Secretary General informed Mr. V. Verba about the tasks and priority directions for the development of cooperation within the Organization during the Republic of Azerbaijan Chairmanship in the current year, as well as the interest of the GUAM countries in expanding international cooperation, including with the OSCE.
Ambassador V. Verba spoke about the activities of the OSCE in Ukraine. The parties expressed interest in developing mutual cooperation in areas of mutual interest and agreed to continue contacts and exchange of information.
