On June 7, 2016, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Mr S. Ordabayev received Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM Mr A. Efendiev.
During the conversation, in an open and friendly atmosphere, the Secretary General informed the Ambassador about the goals and tasks of the Organization, the priorities of the Program of the Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the current year. In particular, the importance of cooperation within the GUAM for the implementation of the Concept of the transport and transit corridor connecting the eastern borders of the EU with the countries of Central Asia was noted. It was stressed that this corridor in conjunction with the Trans-Caspian route could become an important component of the Great Silk Road. The Secretary General informed the Ambassador about the latest events and decisions within the GUAM in this direction.
The sides exchanged information on the situation in the Black Sea-Caspian region underscored the importance of maintaining stability and developing comprehensive cooperation.
The parties agreed to continue the meetings and exchange of information.
