On 19 October 2018, Mykola Melenevskyi, Program Coordinator of the GUAM Secretariat, participated in the XIV Forum of Mitteleuropa Cultural Association which took place in Udine, Italy.
The Forum brought together representatives of politicians, diplomats, parliamentarians, academicians and public institutions from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkan area.
Program Coordinator outlined the current situation regarding ODED-GUAM and cooperation among its Member States as well as the progress achieved in relations with other international organizations. Mykola Melenevskyi noted that the interaction is aimed at strengthening democracy and economic development in the Black Sea-Caspian region that is carried out through the implementation of infrastructure projects accompanied by law enforcement protection.
Since its first edition in 2005, the Forum has been a part of the process aimed at fostering closer economic and political cooperation between the European macroregions also in view of facilitating European integration.
