27 October 2016, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM Mr A. Efendiev met with the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Mr Francis Malige and the EBRD Director in Ukraine Mr Sevki Acuner.
The Secretary General briefly spoke about the GUAM Organization, the main areas of activity, the joint projects being implemented by the GUAM countries, and international partnership.
The head of the EBRD regional division, in his turn, informed about the bank’s activities in the countries of the region, the implementation of projects that are important both for the economy of the countries and for the region as a whole.
The Parties showed a mutual interest in the implementation of regional projects, particularly, in transport and trade. The Secretary General informed the EBRD representatives about the planned events within the GUAM, in particular, the high-level meeting and the GUAM Business Forum. The bank representatives indicated their interest in participating in these events.
The Parties expressed interest in maintaining relations and exchanging information on the activities of the organizations.
