On January 22, 2016, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, Mr. Altai Efendiev, met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, Mr. Nazim Aliyev, at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine.
During the conversation, the Parties exchanged views on issues related to the current status of GUAM member countries and also their prospects for cooperation. The Parties noted the importance of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Presidency of GUAM and also of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, and agreed upon on close interaction with the purpose of successfully implementing the Chairmanship’s Programme.
The Parties expressed their confidence that the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Presidency of the Organisation will bring new impetus to cooperation for the GUAM countries, and that it will also contribute to the objective of improving the Organization’s international cooperation.
Mr. Nazim Aliev assured the GUAM Secretary General of full support from the Embassy during the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Presidency.
