On March 9, 2016, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, Mr. I. Počuch, received the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, Mr. A. Efendiev.
The Secretary General spoke about the plans and priorities for GUAM’s cooperation directions in the context of the ongoing processes in and around the region, as well as new initiatives and measures taken in aims of improving the potential for cooperation in the region. In particular, he spoke about the development of the transport corridor, and specific energy cooperation projects, as well as the free trade zone and other areas.
The Secretary General expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the Czech Republic’s cooperation in the GUAM-Visegrad Group format, and also expressed hope that Czech-GUAM cooperation would also expand in relation to other formats.
The Ambassador confirmed that there is interest in cooperating with countries from the GUAM region, wished the SG every success in his post, and also wished success in regards to cooperation within the GUAM format.
The Parties expressed interest in continuing to exchange information.
