On 21 November 2008, the 14th meeting of the GUAM Council of National Coordinators (CNC) took place for the first ever time in new premises of the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv with the participation of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic Mr. A.Azimov, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mr. D.Magradze (presided at the meeting), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. A.Gorin, Charge d’Affaires a.i, of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Mr. E.Karas, and Secretary General of GUAM Ambassador V.Chechelashvili.
The CNC considered the issues of preparation to the next meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs to be held on 4-5 December 2008 in Helsinki as well as to the next meetings in the “GUAM+” format with the partner countries – the United States, Poland, Japan, the Czech Republic. The CNC discussed also the issues of political interaction between the GUAM Member States, their sector cooperation, the issues of current activities of the Organization. In the result of the meeting, the CNC signed the Minutes.
The next meeting of the CNC is planned to hold in February 2009 in Kyiv in connection with the inauguration of the premises of the GUAM Secretariat.
