On September 12, 2011, the 11th Meeting of the GUAM Working Group on Tourism took place at the GUAM Secretariat with the participation of representatives of tourist administrations and touristic operators of GUAM member states, as well as the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and GUAM Secretariat.
Participants of the meeting discussed the results of the FAM Trip for interested representatives of Japanese touristic agencies (held July 18-29, 2011) and the main issues of the press tour for interested representatives of the Japanese mass media.
Participants in the meeting also confirmed participation in the JATA World Travel Fair 2011 exhibition (to be held in Tokyo, September 29 – October 2, 2011) and heard information from the Japanese Side about the conditions of participation in the “Tourism Promotion and Marketing (Targeting the Japanese Market)” seminar, organized by the JICA on November 13 – December 1, 2011 in Japan.
The Sides agreed to hold next WGTOUR meeting at the level of the heads of the respective institutions responsible for tourism development in GUAM member states in the fourth quarter of 2011. The date and venue of the meeting will be disseminated through diplomatic channels.
