Mr. Mykola Melenevskyi, GUAM Programme Coordinator, took part in the XIII International Forum of Aquileia EuroRegion «Migrations – Integrations – Revolutions», which took place in Udine, Italy, on 5 October, 2017 at the invitation of the President of Mitteleuropa Cultural Association.
The event was organised by the Mitteleuropa Cultural Association, in cooperation with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region (Italy) and a consortium of public and private stakeholders. The Forum brought together representatives of politicians, diplomats, parliamentarians, academicians and public institutions from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkan area. Its session was opened by Tibor Navracsics, the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport.
The representative of GUAM delivered an intervention highlighting the role of GUAM as an important regional format of cooperation aimed at fostering peace, security and cooperation in the Black Sea – Caspian Sea region, underlining the 20th Anniversary of its establishment.
Since its first edition in 2005, the Forum has been a part of the process aimed at fostering closer economic and political cooperation between the European macroregions (Baltic, Danubian, and Adriatic-Ionian) also in view of facilitating European integration.
