On 25 July 2008 meeting of GUAM Secretary General Mr. Valeri Chechelashvili with the USA Deputy assistant Secretary of State Mr. David A. Merkel took place in GUAM Secretariat.
In the course of meeting issues of cooperation in the GUAM-USA format were discussed, as well as process of implementation of decisions, agreed during the last GUAM-USA meeting in the margins of Batumi GUAM Summit on 1 July 2008. US technical assistance program to GUAM and its Secretariat, as well as prospects of GUAM-USA cooperation in different sectors ware also discussed.
US Embassy Coordinator of technical assistance for GUAM Mr. M Scanlan took part in the meeting.
