On April 27-29, 2020, Programme Coordinator of the GUAM Secretariat Mr. S. Tamirov participated in the 10th International online Seminar on Trade and Transport Facilitation «Multimodal transport data exchange, digital transport corridors and trade facilitation» The online seminar was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in cooperation with the Government of Ukraine.

During the seminar, the participants discussed using a standardized multimodal transport data set in Port Community Systems, Single Window facilities and data pipelines within the Baltic-Black Sea transport corridor and the developing GUAM transport corridor.

Programme Coordinator of the GUAM Secretariat participated in Session IІ «Practical implementation of standardized data and documents in multimodal transport» on April 27 and Session IV “Connected and Sustainable Trade and Supply Chain Systems” on April 29. He informed the participants about the activities of the Organization in the customs sphere, in particular, about the results of the 3rd Meeting of the Heads of Government of the GUAM Member States (12.12.2019), during which it was signed the Protocols of intent between the Customs Administrations of the GUAM Member States – on the use of blockchain technologies in verifying certificates of goods’ origin transported across the state borders of the GUAM Member States and on the mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operators. Besides, the Programme Coordinator reported on planned meetings of experts of the GUAM Member States in order to implement the provisions of these protocols.

Mr S. Tamirov also apprised of the Organization’s activities in the field of operational resolution of issues related to the goods transit along the GUAM Transport Corridor and increased interaction within the Steering Committee of the GUAM Trade and Transportation Facilitation Project.
