On February 9, 2012, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, Mr. V.Chechelashvili, visited the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. As part of his visit, the Secretary General met with the Academy’s administration, in particular, with the rector of the IAPM, Mr. Anatoly Podolyako.
The Secretary General addressed the students of Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. He particularly focused on the history and features of multilateral cooperation in South-Eastern Europe, and informed the audience about the history of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, its goals and objectives, as well as the positioning of the Organization within the system of international relations.
The Secretary General particularly focused on the programs and projects existing within the “GUAM” and “GUAM+” formats and provided information about the development of cooperation in relation to combating organized crime, projects in the field of energy, on the development of a Free Trade Zone, the GUAM transport corridor, the GUAM-Japan joint tourist product, and the Organization’s plans for the future.
The Secretary General further answered the attendees’ questions.
