The Group of Observers of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM has been invited to the elections of Parliament of Georgia, held on October 31, 2020.
Based on the results of observation at such polling stations as 11.27.39; 11.27.40 and 11.27.43 Tserovani region, 11.27.01 the city of Mtskheta and 02.02.01; 02.02.02; 02.02.06 and 02.02.80 Tbilisi city, the group of the GUAM Observers decided to make the following Statement:
Parliament’s Elections of Georgia were organized and conducted in compliance with international obligations and standards of democratic elections, including the obligations and the standards of the OSCE and the Council of Europe, in accordance with the national legislation as well as the rules and procedures elaborated by the Central Election Commission of Georgia.
As regards the general electoral process, the organization of elections and the activities of the commissions at the polling stations, the GUAM Observer Group has no significant remarks. The conditions for free expression of the will were provided at the polling stations, and the voter activity was observed.
The elections were held in a competitive spirit and can be assessed as free and fair.
