On September 14, 2011 in Yalta, Ukraine, the first experts’ meeting on questions of the development of auxiliary road infrastructure took place. This event was organised by the International Road and Transport Union (IRU) and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, with the participation of programme coordinator Mr. S. Temirov took place.
Participants in the meeting discussed the model highway initiative, as well as the role that is being played by various organisations and institutes in the development of auxiliary road infrastructure.
Mr. S. Temirov informed participants about the work that has been undertaken within the framework of GUAM in the sphere of transport and tourism, as well as speaking about the programmes for the GUAM Free Trade Zone and GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation projects.
