On November 15-16, 2012, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, Ukraine hosted the 10th meeting of the Working Sub-Group on Combating Trafficking in Persons and Illegal Migration (WGS-TIP).

Participating delegations exchanged information about the national legislation, operational situation and measures being taken to combating trafficking in persons and illegal migration. The presentations on state agencies’ experience in preparing for and conducting the Eurovision Contest in Baku in 2012 and European Football Championship in Ukraine were made.

Having discussed the outcomes of conducting joint measures “Perekhvat- 2012” (Interception-2012), the Working Sub-Group proposed to extent exchange of statistic and analytical information. Issues of exercising control over adoption of children by foreign citizens and combating crimes in this area were discussed, too.
The Working Sub-Group underlined the needs to further extension of regional cooperation with other international partners.

The outcomes of the meeting were reflected in the resultant Protocol. The next meeting of the WGS-TIP is scheduled to take place in March 2013.
