May 18-19, 2016 in the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, under the Chairmanship of the Moldovan side, the 11th meeting of the Working Group on Transport was held in which delegations of the GUAM member states and the GUAM Secretariat participated.
The participants of the meeting exchanged information on new opportunities of the GUAM transport corridor in connection with the creation of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, its coordinating committee by transport companies of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan. The participants discussed issues related to the implementation of the results of the specialized conference GUAM-Transit-2 (November 19, 2015, Kyiv) and noted the importance of their speedy implementation. The parties noted that a number of recommendations of the above conference have been implemented.
The meeting participants also discussed the preparation of a meeting of heads of departments responsible for transport development in the GUAM member states within the International Transport Week in Odesa (May 31, 2016). In particular, the participants of the meeting agreed and approved the drafts of the Odesa Declaration of the Heads of Departments of the GUAM member states responsible for the development of transport and the Action Plan on increasing the cargo transportation along the GUAM transport corridor.
The next meeting of the Working Group on Transport at the level of heads of agencies responsible for transport development was decided to be held on May 31, 2016, in Odesa.
