On November 20-21, 2012, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv hosted the 17th Meeting of the GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation Project Steering Committee of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM.
Participants in the meeting listened to information regarding the implementation of the decisions taken in the Protocol from the 16th Meeting of the TTF Project Steering Committee. They also discussed issues connected with realising the Project on Trade and Transport Facilitation.
The Parties presented their respective reports on the implementation of national plans for realising the TTF in their countries. The Ukrainian side informed about the main directions for reforming the Customs Service, and also shared their experience with respect to the preparations made for and the hosting of the finals for the European Football Championship “Euro 2012”.
Participants in the meeting listened to reports by the customs services on the system for exchanging preliminary information about goods and vehicles being relocated across the state borders of GUAM member states.
Participants agreed to hold the next meeting of the TTF Project Steering Committee in the first half of 2013 in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The exact dates of the meeting shall be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
