The 20th regular meeting of the Working Group on Coordination of Combating Crime was held on the premises of the Secretariat on December 20-21, 2017. Delegations of all the Member States took part in the event.
The Meeting was arranged in two sessions – the session at the level of experts was held on December 20, which was followed by the high-level segment that was convened on December 21 under the Chairmanship of Ukraine.
Delegations positively assessed the progress achieved by the working subgroups in their statutory activities throughout the year. They noted the commendable trend of continuity in the membership of delegations, underpinned the necessity of developing and the introduction of practical interaction, including the implementation of joint projects. The Group set out the targets for the next year, defining the activation of the GUAM Law Enforcement Virtual Centre, better use of the VLEC capacities (Cryptographic Protection System for the GUAM Virtual Center on Combating Terrorism, Organized Crime, Drug Trafficking and Other Dangerous Types of Crime) and boosting the cyber security endeavor as important.
The Group adopted Report on its activities in 2017 and the plan for 2018.
The next regular meeting of the Group will be convened in November – December of 2018.
