On October 29-30, 2014, the Second Workshop “Promoting Green Economy in GUAM countries: Promoting renewable energy sources” took place in Szetnendre, Hungary at the premises of the headquarters of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC). This workshop was organised within the framework of GUAM-Japan cooperation with REC providing support to GUAM member states. This event took place as a continuation to the first Seminar by the same name, which took place at the GUAM Secretariat on October 17-18, 2013.

This event involved representatives of relevant ministries and departments, research institutes, academies, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Hungary, the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe, and the GUAM Secretariat.

During the workshop, representatives gave their presentations about new trends regarding state policy in the field of renewable energy sources, the prospects of its development and potential in GUAM member states, as well as its effectiveness and common use in the region covered by GUAM member states.

As a result of the workshop, a roundtable took place afterwards. During the roundtable, participants summarised and exchanged views on the information provided during the specified event.
