17-19 July 2019, the 30th Meeting of GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation Project Steering Committee took place in Stepantsminda, Kazbegi, Georgia.

The participants provided information on the implementation of the Trade and Transport Facilitation Project in the GUAM Member States and noted the importance of continuing work towards further simplifying customs procedures and ensuring safety when moving goods and vehicles across the borders of the GUAM Member States.

The Parties noted the entry into force of the Protocol among the customs administrations of the GUAM Member States on cooperation in the field of fight against customs offences related to the movement of goods by air transport across the state borders of the GUAM Member States, signed in Chisinau 5 October 2018.

The participants expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan Side for developing web portal ‘GUAM Digital Trade Hub’ and agreed to continue work on filling it with relevant information in the customs field.

During the meeting, the Parties reviewed and agreed on a draft Memorandum among the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, the Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova and the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine on cooperation in advanced training of staff in the customs field.

The next meeting will take place in the 2nd half of 2019.
