On July 16-17, 2015, the delegation of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM visited Japan with purpose to hold the 6th GUAM-Japan Meeting, and to participate in the Conference “Second Japan-GUAM Dialogue”.

On July 16, 2015, the 6th GUAM-Japan Meeting was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. During this event, in particular, the Parties considered GUAM-Japan Cooperation Program. The results of the Meeting found their reflection in Press Statement of the 6th GUAM-Japan Meeting.

On July 17, the delegation of GUAM participated in the Conference “Second Japan-GUAM Dialogue”. Welcoming greetings of Prime-Minister Mr. Sindzo Abe and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Fumio Kishida were announced during the event.

Representatives of the Japan Government, as well as representatives of the academic circles and diplomatic community took part in the Conference.

Heads of GUAM member states delegations delivered their presentations during two Plenary Sessions; they also answered numerous questions of participants of the Conference.

As a main result of the Conference, all participants emphasized the necessity to develop international cooperation on the basis of UN Charter, Helsinki Principles, generally recognized principles and norms of international law, first and foremost the principle of territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
