On November 22-23, 2012, in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the 9th meeting of the Working Sub-Group on Combating Terrorism (WGSCT) was hold under Azerbaijan’s chairmanship.
The delegations exchanged information on the national legislation, the operational situation and measures taken by the GUAM member states in terms of preventing and combating terrorism.
The Working Sub-Group discussed issues of the development of cooperation to combat the financing of terrorism, as well as the exchange of experience in determination of lone actor terrorists.
Countering cyberterrorism issues, including practices of formation of national legislation, experiences in determination, prevention of and combating such crimes were considered.
Issues of further development of regional anti-terrorist interation were also discussed during the meeting.
The outcomes of the meeting were reflected in the resultant Protocol. The next meeting of the Working Sub-Group is scheduled to take place in April 2013 in Baku.
