On January 10, 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova hosted a meeting between the Secretary General of GUAM, Mr. Valeri Chechelashvili, and Mrs. Natalia Gherman, who is the Vice Prime-Minister and Minister of Foreign affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova. The main priority areas of this meeting were issues of cooperation between GUAM and the EU.
Another meeting between GUAM’s Secretary General, Mr. Valeri Chechelashvili, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Valeriu Chiveri, took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.
During the meeting, the Parties discussed the Programme for the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova for the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM in 2014. The Parties also discussed a wide range of issues related to branch cooperation within the GUAM framework, and also GUAM’s cooperation with key partners such as the USA, Japan and the EU. They also discussed the issue of developing GUAM’s cooperation as part of the Eastern Partnership. The Parties exchanged views on the results of GUAM cooperation in 2013 and the activities planned on 2014.
A meeting between GUAM’s Secretary General, Mr. Valeri Chechelashvili, and Parliament Vice-Premier, Mr. Oleg Bodrug, took place at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The Parties exchanged views on the planned meetings of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and the Bureau of the PA for 2014, and also on the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
