On June 19, 2012 in GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, Mr. V. Chechelashvili held a meeting with the Director General of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Centre (SELEC), Mr.Gürbüz Bahadir. The Program Coordinator for Political and Legal Issues of the GUAM Secretariat, Mr. O.Klynchenko participated in the meeting.
The parties exchanged information about the actual activities, priorities and tasks of GUAM and SELEC in combating crime and terrorism. Perspectives of broadening cooperation between the two organizations and its member states, including possible participation of other partners and international structures, were examined during the meeting. Participants underlined the importance of further development of regional interaction, broadening of direct contacts as well as conducting joint measures.
The Letter of Intent between GUAM and SELEC was signed during the meeting.
