On November 3 2010 GUAM Secretary General Mr. Valeri Chechelashvili took part in a meeting with students of Kyiv National University of culture and arts.

Secretary General provided information about the history of Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, its goals and objectives as well as positioning of the Organization in the network of international relations.

Secretary General particularly focused on programs and projects in “GUAM” and “GUAM+” formats and informed the audience about the implementation of Free Trade Zone, GUAM Transport transit corridor, GUAM-Japan Joint tourist product and GUAM cooperation with Visegrad Group countries, USA, Japan and International organizations (UN, OSCE, Council of Europe).

Special attention was given to implementation of GUAM Action Plan of Ukraine’s Presidency till the end of 2010 which was endorsed during the CMFA GUAM Meeting under the Presidency of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. K.I.Gryschenko (24th September 2010, New York). Mr. V.Chechelashvili underlined that mentioned document is directed on the further strengthening of the common platform of cooperation and active utilization of Organization’s potential for achievement of foreign policy and economic priorities of GUAM member states.

Secretary General answered the questions of the participants.

The meeting was concluded by informal exchange of views during the coffee session.
