On February 14-15, 2019 the Regional Workshop «Together against the manipulation of sports competitions» was held in the Secretariat of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM. The event was organized for the GUAM Member States and was held within the project of the Council of Europe «Keep Crime Out of Sport +» in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine with the technical support of the GUAM Secretariat.
The Workshop was attended by the representatives of Ministries and Departments, Sports Federations and National Olympic committees of Ukraine, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova, diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine.
The purpose of the Regional Workshop is to provide states with practical and technical assistance in implementing measures to set up national platforms and combat the manipulation of the results of the competition, in accordance with the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions, as well as other relevant measures for the ratification and implementation of the Convention.
During the Workshop, the current state of the fight against the manipulation of sports competitions was reviewed at the national level.
