On May 16-17, 2012 in Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova, the 16th Meeting of the GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation (TTF) Project Steering Committee took place with the participation of members of Steering Committee and the GUAM Secretariat’s Program Coordinator.
Participants in the meeting listened to information on the implementation of the decisions taken in the Protocol from the 15th Meeting of the TTF Project Steering Committee and also discussed issues connected with the realization of the Project on Trade and Transport Facilitation.
Meeting attendees discussed presentations about the system for exchanging preliminary information about goods and vehicles that may be relocated across state borders of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the activities of the Mission of the European Union on border assistance to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (EUROBAM).
In addition, participants in the meeting obtained information about GUAM member states’ process of preparing propositions on the extension of the national sections of the GUAM Virtual Centre, with the involvement of interested government ministries and agencies in order to promote the exchange of information.
Participants agreed to hold the next meeting of the TTF Project Steering Committee in the second half of 2012 in Ukraine. The exact dates of the meeting shall be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
