On September 26, 2013 in New York, the 19th meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs with the United States of America took place within the framework of the 68th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. The United States was represented by Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
The parties noted the importance of dialogue and the mutual benefit of GUAM-USA dialogue in various formats, first and foremost at the ministerial level. Special attention, in this regard, was paid to exchanging views on a wide range of issues regarding international and regional cooperation, and also to the further implementation of projects and programmes within the GUAM-USA cooperative framework.
The GUAM CMFA expressed its gratitude to the U.S. Government for its consequent support of the Organisation in fulfilment of its statutory objectives and goals.
As a result of the meeting, a GUAM – United States Joint Statement was adopted.
