On January 28-29, 2015, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv hosted the 33rd meeting of the Council of National Coordinators (CNC) of GUAM. This meeting involved the following officials: Head of Department on Regional Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr T. Musayev; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and GUAM National Coordinator from Georgia, Mr. D. Jalagania; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and GUAM National Coordinator from the Republic of Moldova, Mr. V. Chiveri; Director of the Department of Policy and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr. A. Makeev (who chaired the meeting); and the Secretary General of GUAM, Mr. V. Chechelashvili.
The CNC approved the text of the draft resolution “Cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM” and exchanged views on the progress being made with respect to the draft resolution “Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development”.
The CNC discussed issues concerning branch cooperation within GUAM, in particular, with respect to economy and trade, energy, transport, as well as in the field of law enforcement.
The CNC also discussed issues of cooperation between GUAM and other states and international organisations.
The place and the date of the next CNC meeting will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
