On 25-26th October 2010 the 6th Meeting of Working Group on Tourism took place in Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM with participation of tourist operators, representatives of touristic agencies of GUAM member states, representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, air company “Turkish Airlines” and GUAM Secretariat.
Participants of the meeting discussed results of World Touristic Fair JATA WTF 2010 (24-26th September 2010) and outcomes of meetings with Japanese tour operators during the conference which was held in the margins of abovementioned event. The Sides thanked representative of «Turkish Airlines” for the information provided during the meeting.
Participants of Working Group discussed the implementation of Action Plan on GUAM-Japan joint tourism product and payed special attention to English and Japan speaking tour guides training process for each GUAM member states, agreed to specify a list of prospective partners – Japanese touristic operators interested in GUAM tourist product during JICA seminar (February 2011, Japan) and invite them for information tour through GUAM member states. Participants adopted decision about press-tours for representatives of Japanese information agencies (Summer 2011) and development of GUAM touristic portal.
Participants of Working Group agreed Agenda of touristic seminar which will take place in Japan on February 2011.
Following the results of Working Group the Protocol was signed.
Next Meeting of Working Group on Tourism will take place in GUAM Secretariat at the end of January 2011.
