On March 4-5, 2013, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv held the 7th meeting of the GUAM Working Group on Energy under Azerbaijan’s chairmanship. The event involved representatives of the relevant departments of GUAM member state, the GUAM Secretariat, and representatives of the REC Hungarian Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe.
Participants in the meeting were briefed by representatives of the Hungarian Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe regarding the seminar for GUAM member states “Promoting Green Economy in GUAM countries: Promoting renewable energy sources”, and thanked the Government of Japan for supporting this project.
The meeting’s discussion addressed issues related to preparing for the seminar for GUAM member states “Promoting Green Economy in GUAM countries: Promoting renewable energy sources”, organised within the GUAM-Japan cooperation framework, together with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe (REC). Participants agreed to hold a workshop on October 17-18, 2013 at the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, and also discussed and adopted the concept for the project “Promoting Green Economy in GUAM countries: Promoting renewable energy sources”.
The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the Working Group in the second half of 2013. The date and location shall be determined through diplomatic channels.
