On 26-28 November 2009 the Sessions of the Baltic Assembly and the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs were held in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Parliamentary Delegation of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM also participated at the Sessions headed by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, H.E. Mr. David Bakradze.
The event at the Lithuanian Seim was opened by the photo exhibition on August war. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Chairpersons of the Parliaments of all three Baltic States attended the exhibition. The Chairpersons of the Parliaments of Georgia and Lithuania addresses the participants of this event.
The 28th Session of the Baltic Assembly was opened by the Head of Georgian Delegation in the Seim of Lithuania. At the meeting the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Mr. David Bakradze delivered a speech both in the capacity of head of Georgian Delegation and GUAM Chairmanship. During the discussion the need for further cooperation of GUAM and Baltic Assembly was underlined. Mr. David Bakradze has marked that GUAM has passed a difficult political way and signed agreement of cooperation with the Baltic Assembly will be an important precondition for GUAM further development. Two documents were adopted within the framework of the 28th Session of the Baltic Assembly: Joint Statement of GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and Baltic Assembly and Declaration of the Baltic Assembly on the situation in Georgia.
The Baltic Assembly once again reiterated its support to the territorial integrity of Georgia.
