On November 16, 2011, GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili met with students from the National Academy of leading culture and arts staff.
The Secretary General provided information about the history of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, its goals and objectives, as well as the Organization’s position within the overall international relations system.
The Secretary General particularly focused on the programmes and projects currently being carried out within the scope of the “GUAM” and “GUAM+” formats. He informed the audience about the development of cooperation in the struggle against organised crime, on the implementation of a Free Trade Zone Agreement, a GUAM Transport Transit Corridor, a joint GUAM-Japan tourism product, as well as the Organization’s plans for the future.
The Secretary General also answered participants’ questions.
