23 September 2016, in New York, within the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM Mr Altai Efendiev met with the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Mr Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser and Ms Nihal Saad, Chief of Cabinet and Spokesperson for the High Representative for the UNAOC.
During the conversation, it has been expressed interest on the part of the GUAM in establishing relationships with the UNAOC and developing cooperation among the Organizations.
Mr N.A. Al-Nasser received a written appeal, where outlined the GUAM main motives and desire to join the Group of Friends of the UNAOC, as well as to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation, within which the joint initiatives and projects could be implemented.
The High Representative for the UNAOC assured that the appeal will be considered and a response letter will be sent to the GUAM soon.
