12 December 2019, the Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Member States of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM was held in Kyiv.
The meeting was attended by Mr O. Goncharuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine; Mr G. Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia; Mr I. Chicu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova; Mr A. Akhmedov, Vice-Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mr A. Efendiev, GUAM Secretary General.
In their speeches, the Heads of Government noted the opportunities for expanding cooperation within the GUAM, emphasized the role of the private initiative and enterprise in the efficient and sustainable development of the region, as well as confirmed the need for developing the public-private partnership in the implementation of the GUAM projects and initiatives in trade and transport.
During the meeting, it was signed the Protocol of intent between the Customs Administrations of GUAM Member States – on the use of blockchain technologies in verifying certificates of goods’ origin transported across the state borders of the GUAM Member States and on the mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operators.
The meeting resulted in the adoption of the Joint Statement of the Heads of Government of the GUAM Member States.
At the end of the meeting, the Heads of Government spoke at a joint press conference where they summed up the event.
