On May 22, 2012, the Secretariat of Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, jointly with the Danish company CHR. HANSEN (one of Europe’s leaders of innovative technologies in the winemaking sphere) held a workshop for companies from GUAM member countries operating in the wine producing industry. The event took place at the GUAM Secretariat. More than 30 representatives of 15 wineries from GUAM member states took part in the event.
Participants in the event had the opportunity to become acquainted with the history of the CHR. HANSEN company, its positioning on the market of cultures of direct inoculation in the process of wine production and other fields of agro-reprocessing, Participants received information about the process of alcohol fermentation in the winemaking process, instruments for controlling malolactic fermentation, and experience in the application of malolactic fermentation, including those acquired in Eastern Europe, as well as enzymes, and the conditions for the wine industry.
Apart from that, there was an opportunity during the workshop for wine tasting (the degustation) of various wines produced in Eastern Europe, countries of the New and Old World, particularly for wines involving yeast and malolactic cultures from CHR. HANSEN.
