On 16-17th November 2010 in GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv the 13th Meeting of the GUAM Trade and Transport Facilitation (TTF) Project Steering Committee took place under the chairmanship of the Ukraine Side with the participation of Steering Committee members and GUAM Secretariat Program Coordinator Mr. S.Temirov.
Participants of the meeting were furnished information about realization of the Protocol of Steering committee’s previous session, in particular, about aspects of implementation of the project on electronic preliminary informing on transported cargoes on TIR-EPD system (International Road Transport Electronic Pre-Declaration), the course of the implementation of Trade and Transport Facilitation Project in GUAM member states, second phase of joint border operation “TIRA” on the Ukrainian-Moldavian region border, about possible joint projects at bilateral or multilateral levels between customs administrations of GUAM member states in the field of “Electronic customs», as well as creation and functioning of the Regional educational center of World Customs Organization in Ukraine.
As an outcome of discussion of the Agenda items participants of meeting agreed to facilitate cooperation of customs departments of GUAM member states on the basis of the existing regional educational centers of World Customs Organization in GUAM member states, to continue implementation of joint projects of GUAM member states in customs sphere, to continue practice of carrying out of joint boundary operations of GUAM member states and to support implementation of GUAM-Japan joint tourist product.
Participants made decisions on various aspects of cooperation in the field of customs and border cooperation.
Next meeting of TTF Steering committee will take place in the Azerbaijan Republic in 1 half year 2011.
