12 December 2019, the second meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the GUAM Member States held with the participation of the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The meeting participants discussed the results of cooperation in the customs sector in 2019 as part of the implementation of the Trade and Transport Facilitation Project in the GUAM Member States, and also noted the need to monitor the implementation of concluded international treaties in the customs to further simplify customs procedures and improve the customs clearance process, as well as the fight against customs offences.
Within the Meeting of the Heads of Government of the GUAM Member States, it was signed the Protocols of intent between the Customs Administrations of GUAM Member States – on the use of blockchain technologies in verifying certificates of goods’ origin transported across the state borders of the GUAM Member States and on the mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operators.
The parties agreed to hold the next meeting in 2020.
