On November 11, 2011, the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv hosted the sixth meeting of the Working Group on Emergencies (WGEMRG).
The delegations discussed the application of the best international practices by GUAM member countries and the further development of cooperation with other international partners, including the joint preparation and holding of events.
The Working Group examined the sharing of information on the activities of GUAM member states’ units in disaster prevention and response.
The delegations exchanged views on the preparation of rescue units for mass events and decided in favour of sharing practices in terms of the fulfilment of relevant tasks, including the organization of interaction between various agencies.
The outcomes of the meeting were reflected in the resultant Protocol. The next meeting of the WGEMRG is scheduled to take place in March 2012 in Kyiv..
