On September 17, 2013, the Secretary General of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, Mr. V. Chechelashvili, was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr. L.A. Kozhara.
The Secretary General provided an overview of ongoing cooperation within the “GUAM” and “GUAM+” formats, the implementation of cooperation programmes and projects, inter alia, in the field of free trade zone, fighting organised crime, as well as in energy, tourism, and transport.
The Minister emphasised the importance of and expressed his support for the active work being carried out by GUAM authorities in order to make full use of the Organization’s impressive potential for cooperation, and also stressed the important role of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The parties discussed the agenda of the 21st Meeting of the Council of Foreign Affairs, and also the agenda of meetings with the USA, Japan and the Pacific Alliance, within the GUAM+ format, which are scheduled to take place on September 26, 2013 in New York.
