On 8 February 2010 GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili had a meeting with co-ordinator of department of European programs Bureau on the international affairs on drugs and law-enforcement activity issues of US State department Mr. Lasy A. Wright in GUAM Secretariat.
During the meeting were discussed questions of implementation of previously initiated and new projects within the Framework US-GUAM Program in areas of combating drug trafficking, trade in persons, money laundering, terrorism, as well as modernizing the GUAM Virtual Law Enforcement System (VLEC).
The Sides also discussed proposals of GUAM about the realization of sub-project on modernizing border control and vehicles checking along the GUAM Transport Corridor, and some other issues of cooperation between GUAM and USA.
GUAM Secretary General appraised continuous US support to GUAM.
